Watch SCC on your TV

Imagine: Your experience of church will never be the same.

You take a camping trip on the weekend, and arrive home Sunday afternoon. After dinner you sit down with the family, turn on the TV, and before watching your favorite shows or a movie, you make a point of watching Pastor Scott's message from that morning - on demand, with a simple click of the remote.

You are a "Snow Bird" for six months of the year, living outside of Sequim. Now you can keep up with happenings in the church, see your friends in the choir, and watch Pastor Scott's messages anytime you like.

You are getting less able to make it church each Sunday, and sometimes miss the services. Now you can watch the service on your TV that afternoon without having to order a DVD and wait for it. Or you can watch previous ones at any time.

Now, it's not only the Roku box which works with our Video Host. Click here to see the range of TV's, blu-ray players and devices which can receive our church videos.   And not only that! If your TV, game console or blu-ray player can stream YouTube, you can watch our videos there too at the SCClive98382 channel.  Try it out.  Below you'll see one of the cheaper ways to do it for under $100.

What will I need to do this?
•A Roku box  costs as little as $49 with no subscription fees. (There are also more expensive versions with better HD and farther range). The box works with all kinds of TV's. You can order at their site by clicking on this link which gives you a 30 day money back guarantee, and one year warranty. You may also be able to find a deal on a Roku box at other online stores.
• An internet connection in your home (DSL or Cable)
• An inexpensive
wireless router (or plug directly into the box)
• You may also want to get a
Netflix subscription (thousands of streaming movies and tv shows) or Amazon instant streaming, as this and other types of channels like sports and news are one of the attractions of owning a Roku box.

If all of that seems too complicated, you can always get DVDs by calling the church office or just watch on your computer. But consider: This is super affordable, easy to do and we'll help you - as long as you have basic internet. (If you can watch the "SCC on TV demo" above on your home computer, your connection is fast enough. You can also click on the speed test button on the upper right to check your connection).

Click here for instructions on how to set up the Roku box and link with our church channel. If you have any questions please email SCConTVhelp@gmail.com and we’ll walk you through it.  If you live in Sequim and are interested but want a to see a demo or test things out with your home internet service before you commit, we can set up a test with the Roku Box that the church owns.

FAQ:

How does it look? We use the state of the art mpeg-4 video format so it looks as good as a DVD with the audio coming from the church sound board.

Is this live streaming? No, it is free video-on-demand. You can watch all our videos anytime you like.

When is Sunday's video ready to view? By early Sunday afternoon. We upload the video files and also burn our DVD copies during the 11 am Service. So everything is usually up on the Internet right after church gets out at noon.  Consider it the "4th Service" -  viewable any time and any place.

What about mobile devices? These videos will play on mobile devices, including iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and many Android phones. If you’ve got one of these, just go right onto the church website at sequimcommunitychurch.org and click on the "Missed the Sunday Message?" button. Then click on the video and it will load and play. Cool!
